A pioneering foundation established in 1959
Our family legacy began in 1959 when our father, Panagiotis Ghikas, (the man to the far left in the picture, alongside his brothers), founded the business at the age of 17.
In an era of great transformation across Greece, he recognised significant potential in land acquisition along the north-eastern Athenian coast. He subdivided substantial estates into fully serviced plots with electricity, water, and telephone infrastructure. A decade later, as urban planning evolved, Panagiotis transitioned into pioneering development—constructing the coastal road linking Kalamos with Oropos and successfully delivering ten residential blocks comprising around 65 flats each.
He then built several blocks of flats in Ano Patisia, Chalandri, Nea Erythrea and Heraclion, a factory on the National Road Athens - Thessalonica in Peristeri, and several residential and retail spaces in Kifisia, including a four story office and retail space on the main square of Kifisia. This building is still owned by the family.
He retired in early 2008, due to his heart condition. The legacy was passed on to his children, Yiannis and Christos. Upon his return from the US, Christos was handed over the management of the family Estate amongst his other ventures, including the construction of a 2MW Solar Park. Yiannis became the 5th developer in Monaco MC, the first non Monegasque to ever become a developer in Monaco.
A powerful family partnership in timber
In continuing our family traditions, we formed an exclusive partnership with our relative Nikos Ghikas and his brother George, who established Ghikas Quality Wood. Originating from their father's carpentry and timber roots, they established their Veroia enterprise in 1985.
Today, their manufacturing and storage facility spans 11,000 square metres, serving Greece, Cyprus, and the Middle East. Through this collaboration, Gravity provides clients direct access to an exceptional collection exceeding 60 distinct types of wood for architectural design, bespoke construction, and bespoke property fittings.
Nikos Ghikas heirs, George and Aris continue the family legacy. The other sibling, Christos, works at a family office in Monaco, MC.
George, the eldest son has manufactured an SPC flooring after spending two years of research and tests in South East China. His company, Limaver, established in Cyprus handles exclusively the SPC business and his Bulgarian company, Romilia, stores the SPC flooring at a logistics centre in Petritsi, Bulgaria.
The second generation real estate partner
Now in our second generation of leadership from Kifisia, G ravity has evolved into a complete one-stop shop for property management and property development. We seamlessly combine the roles of developers, designers, constructors, contractors, certified appraisers, real estate consultants, and realtors. Guided by decades of multidisciplinary expertise, and through strategic collaborations, we provide holistic guidance for every property investment, residential build, or commercial asset management project.
